In order to make the story the center of attention, this show was designed with abstraction in mind, which was realized through the use of books

Book Furniture
The base for the furniture were frames built of 2x4
The couch then had padding added to it in order to make it more comfortable for an older actor

Real books, some sliced in half, some not, were then used to face the furniture so it just looked like piles of books
Screw holes were then spackled over and painted

After the furniture was completed the rest of the set was dressed with piles of books
